Our Story

Bridging Traditions
with the World

We exist to celebrate and preserve the extraordinary craftsmanship of Northeast India's artisan communities.

Why We Started

Northeast India β€” the "Seven Sisters" states and Sikkim β€” is home to some of the most extraordinary craftsmanship traditions in the world. From the golden Muga silk of Assam to the ancient Longpi pottery of Manipur, these are arts that have survived for centuries, passed down through generations.

Yet, many of these artisans struggle to reach markets beyond their immediate communities. Middlemen capture most of the value. Young people leave traditional crafts because they can't earn a living wage. Ancient techniques risk dying out.

We started HeritageNE to change this. We work directly with artisan cooperatives and individual craftspeople across all eight states, ensuring they receive fair compensation while their products reach admirers worldwide.

What We Stand For

Our Values

πŸ›‘

Authenticity First

Every product is verified for authenticity. The products are directly sourced from the artisans and communities of Northeast India. Each product tells a story.

🀝

Fair Trade

We pay artisans fairly β€” no middlemen, no exploitation. Our pricing ensures artisans earn sustainable incomes while keeping products accessible.

🌿

Sustainability

Most of our products use naturally sustainable materials β€” bamboo, cane, organic fibers. We promote eco-friendly packaging and carbon-conscious shipping.

πŸ“–

Cultural Preservation

We document and share the stories behind every craft. A portion of proceeds goes toward training young artisans in traditional techniques.
